Land Matters in Northern Uganda: Anything Grows; Anything Goes Post-conflict “conflicts” lie in Land

A preliminary assessment was conducted of land tenure and property rights issues associated with prospects for IDPs to return home in Northern Uganda after 20 years of war. The observations and recommendations of this report are based on two weeks in Uganda (October 23- November 4, 2006), and are largely focused on the “Acholi sub-region in northern Uganda.The sub-region includes Kitgum, Armuru, Gulu and Pader districts.
